3Sweep and inspection, no mess
Drop cloths down, a HEPA vacuum running the whole time, rotary brushes from the bottom and the top. Most sweeps take 60 to 90 minutes.

You get photos of your flue and crown with a plain-language note on anything we found. Pay by card or tap on the doorstep.

Why sweep before the first fire
NFPA 211, the national fire code for chimneys, calls for an inspection once a year. Here is what that yearly look is really catching.
Creosote builds with every fire
Wood smoke leaves a tar-like layer inside the flue. It is flammable, and a thick coat is what turns a cosy fire into a chimney fire.
Summer tenants move in
Birds, squirrels and wasps love an uncapped flue. A nest blocks the smoke from leaving, and it tends to be found on the first cold night.
Water does quiet damage
A cracked crown or a missing cap lets rain in all year. It rusts the damper and breaks up the mortar long before you see a stain.
Fumes need a clear way out
A blocked or damaged flue can push smoke and carbon monoxide back into the room. The annual inspection is how you know it is clear.

What exactly is included in the $159?
A full sweep of one flue from the bottom and the top, the smoke chamber and firebox brushed out, and a Level 1 inspection of the flue, damper, crown and cap. You get a photo report by text before we leave. There is no trip charge anywhere in our service area and no extra for a second storey.
Will it make a mess in my living room?
No. We lay drop cloths from the door to the hearth, seal the fireplace opening and run a HEPA vacuum for the whole sweep. If you find a single smudge of soot after we leave, text us a photo and we come back to clean it.
How often does my chimney need sweeping?
The national fire code for chimneys, NFPA 211, calls for an inspection once a year, and we sweep whenever the inspection finds a build-up. If you burn wood most evenings through the winter, plan on a sweep every autumn. Gas fireplaces still need the yearly inspection.
What happens if you find a problem?
We show you the photos, explain it in plain words and give you a written price for the fix before anything is done. Small jobs like a new cap can often be done on the same visit. Nothing is added to your bill without your say-so.
