We do not chase every kind of job. We do the work we have done for nearly fifty years, and we do it with our own carpenters.

Custom homes

From the first sketch on our kitchen table to the day you get the keys. Timber frame, stick built, or a mix, sized for how you actually live.

Additions

A second storey, a mudroom, a wing for the in-laws. We match your rooflines and siding so nobody can tell where the old house ends.

Remodels

Kitchens, baths and whole-house renovations in homes built anywhere from 1890 to last year. We know what is behind the walls around here.

Barns and outbuildings

Post-and-beam barns, workshops, garages and equipment sheds. Built to take a county winter and still look right beside the house.

Started with a porch on Mill Road

  1. 1978

    Walt Fennimore hangs the sign

    A borrowed truck, a table saw and a promise to show up when he said he would. The first job was a porch on Mill Road. It is still standing.

  2. 1994

    The second generation

    Sons Dan and Pete come on full time. The crew grows to eleven and the company builds its first full custom home on Larkspur Ridge.

  3. 2009

    The workshop on Route 9

    We buy the old creamery and turn it into our shop, where we now cut timber frames and cabinetry for every project.

  4. Today

    Three generations on site

    Walt still stops by most mornings. Dan runs the office, Pete runs the crews, and grandchildren Nora and Sam lead their own jobs.

    A visit, not a sales call

    One of the family comes out, walks the property with you, and listens. No pressure, no clipboard pitch.

    A plan you can read

    Drawings, a line-item estimate and a calendar. You know what it costs and when we will be there before anything is signed.

  3. 3

    One crew, start to finish

    The same lead carpenter is on your job every day. You get a call every Friday with what happened and what is next.

  4. 4

    The walk-through

    We go through every room together, fix anything you point at, and hand over the keys with the warranty paperwork.
