Prices are per hunter, or per boat for fishing, and include the guide, the gear and the bunkhouse. The only extras are your license, a tip and what you do with the meat.

A Friday afternoon at the range
Before your first morning, your guide spends an hour with you on our 100-yard range until you are putting three shots in a paper plate. Nobody walks to a stand on a gun they have not fired.
The license, sorted on one call
No hunter education card yet? Most states sell a one-year apprentice license for exactly this. Dana walks you through the right one when she confirms your booking.
Borrow before you buy
Loaner 12 gauges, a scoped .308, waders in 14 sizes, blaze orange vests and hand warmers. Bring boots and a warm hat, we cover most of the rest.
Your guide sits with you
On a first hunt the guide shares your blind or stand, talks you through every deer or bird that comes in and tells you when, and when not, to take the shot.
Bachelor weekends, work crews and a dad with three sons

Every hunt keeps the same rhythm, so first-timers know what the next hour holds. This is the waterfowl day. Deer and turkey mornings start earlier and run later.

A tip for your guide
Never expected, always appreciated. Most hunters leave 10 to 15 percent of the hunt price.
Processing and taxidermy
The Harlow Meat Locker is 4 miles away and has deer back to you, wrapped and frozen, in about a week. Mounts are between you and the taxidermist.

2Dana calls you within a day
She confirms the dates, sends the license link and the packing list, and asks what you will be shooting so your guide knows before you arrive.
3Pay the balance at the barn
Arrive the afternoon before your first day. Settle up, pick a bunk, meet your guide and hit the range before supper.

The five things first-timers ask Dana on the phone
I have never hunted. Can I really book this?
Yes, and about a third of our hunters are in the same spot. You will need a license, and most states sell an apprentice license that does not need a hunter education card. Book, tick the first-timer box, and Dana will tell you exactly which one to buy. Your guide sits with you on every hunt and you spend an hour on our range the afternoon before.
What happens to my deposit if I cancel?
Cancel 60 days or more before your first day and we refund the full 30%. Inside 60 days we keep the deposit, but you can move it to any open date in the same or next season once. If we cancel for flooding or a closed season, you get every dollar back.
Do I need to bring my own gun or bow?
No. We lend 12 gauge shotguns for turkey and waterfowl and a scoped .308 for whitetail, and ammunition is sold at the barn at cost. You are welcome to bring your own, and your guide will check your zero at the range. Bowhunters bring their own bow for October hunts.
Do you guarantee a deer or a limit of ducks?
No outfitter honestly can. What we can tell you is that last season 81% of our whitetail hunters had a buck within range, 74% of turkey hunters called in a gobbler and the average waterfowl blind shot 3.4 birds per hunter a morning (sample figures). Your guide will tell you straight what the weather is doing to your odds.
Where do we sleep and what do we eat?
The bunkhouse at the barn has 20 bunks in five rooms, hot showers and a mudroom with boot dryers. Breakfast is at 4:45, lunch at 11:30 and supper at 6, usually smoked brisket, venison chili or fried crappie. Tell us about allergies when Dana calls and we cook around them.
Rifle week sold out in August last year. November still has gaps.
