The top of the range covers the things we only see on the walk round: a stairwell we need a tower for, a colour that needs a third coat, wallpaper under the paint.

Paint is in the price. So are sheets, tape, filler, primer, and taking the switch plates off and putting them back. There is no call-out fee and no charge for the survey.
Two coats, always
A one-coat price is how a quote comes in $600 under ours. You see the difference the first winter, when the old colour starts grinning through in the window light.
Five things that push a price up, and four that never do
Every one of these is on the survey sheet before you sign anything. None of them turn up on the invoice for the first time.
Dark walls going pale
Aubergine to off-white is three coats, not two. We add $60 a room and tell you at the survey, not at the end.
Wallpaper that has to come off
$120 a room to strip and wash down, plus whatever the walls look like underneath. We show you a test patch first.
A stairwell over 12 feet
A tower goes up instead of a ladder, which costs $240 and adds most of a day.
A house built before 1978
Lead-safe containment and clean-up is $190 on the job. It is the law, and our crews are certified for it.
Textured ceilings
Those have to be sealed before they are rolled or they lift like porridge. $95 a ceiling.
Things people expect to pay extra for, and do not
- The colour. Deep navy is the same price as white, and so are four different colours in four rooms.
- An accent wall, or a ceiling in a colour that is not white.
- Working around your dog, your toddler or your night shift.
- Changing the sheen at the survey, or after the first room is done.

Twenty-three years of magnolia, a nicotine ring on the back bedroom ceiling and dents behind every door. Walls and ceilings, filling throughout, and we moved the furniture so the family could stay in the house.

Dario or a crew lead walks the rooms, checks the plaster and writes the fixed price on the spot. Send six photos instead if you would rather do it on a call.

The same two people every day, 8am to 4:30pm, dust sheets down and furniture back before they leave. Photos of every room the day we finish.

Is the price on this page the price I pay?
The panel gives a range. The survey turns it into one fixed number, and that number is what we invoice, even if the job takes us longer than we thought. The only time it changes is if we open something up that nobody could see, like wallpaper under the paint or damp behind a wardrobe, and then we stop and show you before anything else happens.
What paint do you use?
Trade emulsion on walls and ceilings, two coats, and water-based satin on trim so it does not yellow the way old oil paint did. Any colour from any fan deck is matched at no extra cost. If you want a specific brand we buy it and the difference goes on at cost, with the receipt.
Do we have to move out?
No. We work room by room, sheet the floors and the doorways, and put the furniture back at the end of each day if you are living in it. Most families pick two or three rooms a week and carry on as normal. An empty house is faster and cheaper, which is why turnarounds and pre-move-in jobs get the shortest day counts.
What does the two-year guarantee actually cover?
Our workmanship. If paint flakes, a filled crack opens up, a line we cut goes soft or a coat peels away from the surface within two years, we come back and put it right at no charge, usually within a fortnight. It does not cover damage: a leak from the bathroom above, the dog, a removal van on the stairs, or a colour you have gone off.
How soon can you start?
The next free crew is three weeks out in Crestmill, Gentry Hill and Halverton, and longer the further out you go. Booking is open from the week of October 19. Cancellations happen most weeks, so ask to go on the short list if you need something sooner.
Do you paint outside in winter?
Until the wall temperature drops below 45F and stays there, which in this county is usually the second week of November. Anything booked after that goes in the spring list, and we use the winter for interiors, kitchens and rental turnarounds.
