Wes Halloran spent twelve years framing timber houses. Ines Varga spent nine winters keeping the ice at the Brannock Falls arena hard enough for hockey. They met when Wes built the sauna behind the arena and Ines told him his plunge would be a bathtub by June.
She was right, so she rebuilt it. Every Charstone plunge still runs on the chiller she specified: oversized, insulated on all six sides, and tested at 95°F outside before it leaves the shop.
Wes still does every site visit. Ines still signs off every chiller. The eight step rule was hers too: past eight steps, people stop going in the cold.
Commercial rooms get 18 to 24 kW heaters, benches in heat-treated aspen that does not splinter under a thousand towels a week, floor drains to code and a plunge sized for a queue. We handle the drawings for your inspector and service everything we install.
The sauna leaves our shop finished, benches in, heater mounted. A 30 ton crane sets it on the footings, over the house if it has to.
The tub goes down, the chiller is wired to the circuit your electrician ran, and it starts pulling the water down to 39°F.
The path between sauna door and plunge gets its steps and low lights. We keep it to eight steps or fewer on every build.
We light it with you, pour the first ladle and show you how to run the stove, the vents and the chiller. Then we leave you to it.
Wes talked us out of the bigger barrel. He was right. It heats in 40 minutes and we use it five nights a week instead of on weekends.
Our members queue for the plunge now. Two winters of 14 hour days and the benches still look new. The service visit is on the calendar before we remember to book it.
