We shape around 480 boards a year in a two-bay shop on Pier Loop in Tidewell. Instead of a week of DMs, the order form asks what the counter would ask, sizes your board and holds your spot on the list with a $200 deposit.

What Kalani asks every walk-in, as a four-step form
Height, weight, how you surf, where you surf and what you ride now. The form runs them through the sizing rules our head shaper has used on 3,900 boards since 2014, then shows you a model, dimensions, volume and a price, and where you would land on the list.

From a $200 deposit to wax on the deck in five weeks
The list is first come, first shaped. Nobody jumps it, including friends of the shop.

Today: Spec it and pay $200
Your board number is fixed the moment the deposit goes through. Kalani reads the spec and texts you within one working day if he would change anything.

Week 1: The blank arrives
We order a blank to suit your length and rocker from a foam maker two hours up the coast. Changes are free until it is on the stand.

Week 2: On the shaping stand
Kalani shapes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, nine or ten boards a week, and sends you a photo of yours in the bay.

Weeks 3 and 4: The glass room
Liv laminates, hot coats and leaves every board to cure a full seven days. Tints, sprays and glassed-on fins happen here.

Week 5: The pickup rack
Sanded, fin boxes checked, and on the rack by the side door. We text you, you pay the balance, and we wax it while you wait.

Every fin box and glass job, priced before you ask
Fins are not included except on the Sunday Log. Sets start at $65, or bring your own. Liv glasses everything in the shop, so a tint or a glassed-on keel adds days to nobody else's board.

Repairs run on their own bench, so they never wait behind the list. Rinse the board and let it dry before you bring it in. If the foam has taken on water we tell you, and it needs a week on the drying rack first.

Anything else, call the shop on (555) 014-7433. Someone in the bay picks up, usually with resin on their hands.
What if the suggested board is wrong for me?
The form runs the same sizing rules Kalani uses at the counter, but he still reads every order before the blank is cut. If he would change the length, the volume or the model, he texts you within one working day and nothing is shaped until you agree.
Is the $200 deposit refundable?
Yes, in full, until your board is on the shaping stand, which is usually the start of week two. After that it goes towards the board. The balance is paid at pickup by card or cash.
Can I order exact dimensions, or copy a board I already ride?
Yes. Put the dimensions in the notes, or bring the board in and we trace the outline and measure the rocker. Custom dimensions cost nothing extra on any model.
Do you take trade-ins?
We credit between $50 and $250 against a new board, depending on the board and its condition. Bring it on pickup day and we knock the credit off the balance.
Can you ship a board to me?
Anywhere in the state for $95, in a padded bag with the fins taped inside. Out of state we quote by the box size. Most people drive in, because the wax is free.
