A mixed practice, the way country practices used to be. The same team that vaccinates your puppy on Tuesday may be scanning your neighbour’s ewes on Wednesday.
Rabbits and small pets
Rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and rats, seen by vets who like them. Rabbit-safe anaesthetics and a monthly dental clinic for overgrown teeth.
Farm visits, sheep and cattle
Flock and herd health plans, lambing and calving calls, lameness, scanning and fertility work, on your farm anywhere in the Ashby valley.
Tom’s equine round covers every yard between Ashby Green and the ridge.
Equine visits
Vaccinations, teeth, lameness workups, colic calls and pre-purchase exams, done at your yard so your horse stays calm at home.

George Pembury and Walter Ash opened the practice in 1962 with one consulting room and a Land Rover. Their families still run it, and you will see the same faces from your pet’s first jab to its last check-up.

A 30 minute appointment for any dog, cat, rabbit or small pet joining the practice.

Puppy and kitten package

Everything a new puppy or kitten needs in the first months, across two visits.

- A free nurse weight check at six months
Farm and equine visits are charged per call-out plus time and medicines. Tom will talk it through before the first visit.

Whatever the hour, call (555) 014-1999. Until 10pm one of our own vets answers it, with your pet’s notes in front of them. After 10pm the same number puts you straight through to the emergency hospital we trust with our own animals.
